SUMMER 2016 FASHION EDITION – THE TOP WOMEN’S FASHION ENTREPRENEURS OF 2016

22
Jul

This is my shows first ever FASHION edition. I began my career in fashion, took a 35 year hiatus from the fashion world,  immersed myself into the world of wine, and then discovered, all these years later, that my heart and entire body had forsaken it’s career soulmate. So now I am making up for lost time by enjoying everything the world of fashion has to offer. Both in the way I dress and in the people I choose to have as special guests on my show. The women on today’s show are amazingly talented and I adore everything they do.  They are all artists in their own right and I admire their accomplishments, often against impossible odds. To me, they are rock stars. We don’t listen to their  music…we wear it. Enjoy the show.

Rebecca Minkoff

Rebecca Minkoff

Rebecca Minkoff is adored for her amazing and relatively affordable line of women’s bags. She is a sought after high profile fashion designer for the A Listers and fashionistas and IT Girls. But Rebecca began her career designing clothes, and bags became the meat between the two slices of bread – those slices are clothes and shoes with a tasty spread of accessories for additional flavour. And the Rebecca Minkoff flagship store in NYC is a full on orgasmic experience if you are both a fashion forward fanatic and a high tech junkie.

Elena Samane

Elena

The Main Line is an affluent region of suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Each small town which makes up the Main Line was connected by the Main Line of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Those of us from the UK are familiar with the term main line as opposed to trains which run underground…subways or tube etc. There is a stereotype Mainliner who is a Anglophile, an ersatz Englishman or woman…loves horses, and wearing sensible clothes. The Main Line has become very cool and chic thanks to a beautiful entrepreneur from Ukraine. The lady in question is Elena Samane, the owner of the Paoli location of the franchise fashion boutique Scout & Molly’s. Elena is an artist, a former art therapist and a woman who makes everything in this store look awesome…especially when SHE wears it.

Laurette O’Neill

P

On a recent visit to the Philadelphia Museum Of Art, my wife and I fell head over heals in love with some simple yet sophisticated art. It wasn’t hanging on the walls. It was displayed downstairs in the Museum’s upmarket gift store. Clean lines and a seeming simplicity define jewelry made by Laurette O’Neil and her husband Zygmunt. They are artisans whose studio, Silver Jewelry Design, creates contemporary and versatile designs which appeal to a wide variety of clients. Hundreds of pieces are made of silver, amber, cultured pearls, lava rock and more, while many of them incorporate different finishes for a personally unique piece.
