60’s “British Invasion” Blues Legend Zoot Money
Zoot Money is an English vocalist, keyboardist and bandleader. He is best known for playing the Hammond organ with his Big Roll Band. Inspired by Jerry Lee Lewis and Ray Charles, he was drawn to rock and roll music and became a leading light in the vibrant music scene in London during the 1960s. Zoot has been associated with The Animals, Eric Burdon, Steve Marriott, Kevin Coyne, Kevin Ayers, Humble Pie, Alexis Korner, Snowy White, Mick Taylor, Spencer Davis, Vivian Stanshall, Geno Washington, Brian Friel, the Hard Travelers, Widowmaker and Alan Price. He is also known as a character actor on tv and films. Phill and Zoot have discussed Zoot’s friendship with all of the British Invasion stars as well as the great Jimi Hendrix in previous shows you can find on this channel. On this weeks show Zoot talks about upcoming gigs, his autobiography, his memories of Ringo and Paul and those tv commercials with David Bailey in the ‘70’s.
