Phillip Silverstone still Wining on re-runs of "Christina Cooks"
on Television (USA)

Christina Pirello launched Christina Cooks in 1997 on PBS affiliate WHYY (Philadelphia), and has become a national sensation, airing on over 135 stations, including all ten of the top ten markets. Christina Cooks now covers over half the United States, reaching an estimated 70% of all cooking enthusiasts. Based on test results, in Philadelphia alone, in 1998 the show averaged a 2.8 rating and a 13-week cumulative reach of over 7%. That means that 3.3 million highly specialized viewers watched the show an average of 5 times each. Christina, with her energetic and engaging personality, taps into the national interest in healthy lifestyles without preaching or pretense. Phillip's philosophy, like Christina's, is refreshingly simple and unique, his delivery often outrageous. These two unique personalities bring together, and de-mystify, two seemingly different worlds: the world of natural/healthy foods and the world of wine.
