Chateau St. Jean Gewurztraminer 1998

April 2000

How do I love thee, let me count the ways.

Gewurztraminer is the mistress in my life. The wine I unashamedly steal away to enjoy alone. There is the promise of excitement, mystery and passion. Can one wine offer me all this. But of course.

I've long tired of Chardonnay and how much Riesling can one man drink? Gewurz, bridges the span between the two and never fails to conquer my heart. This is a spicy flavored wine bulging with gorgeous fruit.

The fragrance hinting at orange blossom and lychee and the taste bringing vivid images of citrus and pear. This is a "pretty" wine to flirt with on long summer afternoons when you having nothing but time and a wineglass to occupy your day.

Never share this wine, drinking it is a strictly personal affair.
